To do so, you will need to install the app provided, usually available online and on various app stores. Before installing, make sure that your app is compatible with your phone and CCTV system. After downloading and launching the application on your phone, you will need to follow a few simple steps to connect it to your DVR:

1. Input the credentials for the DVR, such as its serial number or IP address along with details like username and password associated with it. If you don’t know any of this information, consult the user manual or location of device owner’s manual before proceeding further.
2. Check if both are in same network, i.e., mobile network ‘on’ or same Wi-Fi network connected by both devices

If you are connecting the DVR directly to a router that has a LAN port, use an ethernet cable to ensure a strong and steady connection between each point. If your router does not have an ethernet port, connect it wirelessly using its Wi-Fi connection settings on the DVR.

It’s also important to ensure that any firewall settings are not blocking communication between these two devices. Check both your router’s firewall and the CCTV system’s settings for any rules that could interfere with establishing a stable connection.

Check the username and password

Before you can begin troubleshooting why you are unable to access your CCTV footage from your phone, make sure you are using the correct username and password.
