Download and install the Blink app

The first step to getting your Blink Home Security System up and running is to download and install the Blink app. The Blink app is available for both Android and iOS devices, and can be downloaded from the respective app stores. Once you have downloaded the latest version of the Blink app, open it on your device so you can start setting up your system.

Once you’ve opened the Blink app, you’ll see a number of different sections that you need to enter personal information into before proceeding with setup. The first item will be providing the unique security key that came with your camera set – enter this numerical code in order to proceed. After doing this, you will be required to create a username and password for accessing your camera settings; make sure this is something secure yet easy for you to remember.

When these steps are complete, follow any on-screen instructions that appear in order to finish setting up the system; if there are any questions or concerns, reach out to customer service as soon as possible. Create a Blink account

Once you’ve filled out all of the necessary fields, click ‘Create Account’ at the bottom of the page, and you will be ready to start setting up your Blink system.

Placement and Installation

When deciding where to place cameras, you should take into consideration factors such as lighting and natural obstructions. Make sure to choose locations that give you a wide field of view. You should also install the Blink sync module in a central location with easy access to your router. Determine the best location for each camera

Where you install your Blink Home Security cameras can make a big difference in the quality of your video footage. Consider following these steps when determining the best locations for each camera:

1. Mount each camera at least seven feet off the ground and aimed slightly downward in order to capture activity clearly on your front porch or in an open area.

2. Place cameras near entrances so that you can see visitors before they enter your home, at least 30 feet away from doors, windows, or vents where sound can interfere with microphone pick-up.

3. Place cameras near high-traffic areas such as hallways, stairways and pathways to capture potential intruders if they happen to enter your home.

4. If you are using a spotlight camera, locate the camera near an outdoor light source so that the spotlight is able to illuminate directly on those entering the focus zone for a brighter view. To ensure proper coverage of key entry points keep any lights away from other cameras so that image quality is not compromised by strong light sources nearby.

5. Make sure any outdoor locations get plenty of sunlight during the day and avoid mounting any cameras where trees or buildings may block their view during certain times of day when motion is detected and recorded (e.g., entranceways).

Install the Sync Module

To get started on setting up your Blink Home Security System, the first step is to install the Sync Module. A Sync Module is the small black box that contains two USB ports and a single LED light, and should be included in your Blink Home Security System package.

The Sync Module needs to be connected directly to a USB power adapter that outputs at least 1A of current, then plugged into an AC outlet near your router. It is very important that you do not use a USB port on your computer or TV as these can provide insufficient power for the device.

Once connected, wait for the LED light to turn solid green; this indicates that it’s connected correctly and ready for configuration. Keep in mind that it may take up to 30 seconds before the LED light becomes solid green or begins blinking blue or orange; this corresponds with its connection status. If after 30 seconds you have not seen any of these colors, try restarting the setup process from step one.

Set up the cameras

Once you’ve set up and registered your Blink Home Security System, it’s time to install your cameras. Depending on the specific model of Blink Security Camera, you may use double-sided adhesive tape to attach the camera to flat surfaces, or a mounting bracket if desiring to install onto walls. If utilizing the double-sided tape method, simply peel off the backing paper and stick the camera in the desired spot.

If using a mounting bracket, begin by following all instructions that accompany with your particular mounting bracket. Once secured onto its place on the wall or ceiling, gently slide or press down on it until it is firmly attached. You’ll need a Philips-head screwdriver and possibly a power drill depending on whether you are installing into concrete walls or another surface material such as wood. Keep in mind that wherever you choose to mount your camera must be strong enough to support its weight and should be placed out of reach from children or anyone else who would potentially cause any damage through tampering.

Once camera placement is finalized, plug in power cord into an outlet close enough for lighting equipment connection port visibility as it will have to be connected later during system setup and configuration steps (detailed instructions can also be found online). Once connection port has been located, mount your designated camera by pushing down firmly onto its surface again before finally attaching one end of white lightning cable securely onto wall mounted side of lighting kit cylinder before connecting other end into backside of selected camera’s connection port located near base plate area.

Connecting to Wi-Fi

Once you have set up a virtual connection via either form, use the blinking power button on Sync Manager console in order to establish a link between it and your home router. Connect the cameras to the Sync Module

Now it is time to connect your Blink Home Security System cameras to the Sync Module. Each camera is assigned its own unique QR code so that you can connect it easily. Make sure that your Sync Module and any cameras have been plugged into a wall outlet near each other.

To begin, press and hold the power button on the Sync Module until the power light starts to blink blue, indicating that it is ready for setup. Next, launch the Blink app on your mobile device and head over to “Connect Cameras” in the Settings tab of the Home screen, then select “Sleep Mode.” You will be prompted to type in your personal keycode which should have been supplied with your system package.

Once connected, you will be required to scan in each individual camera’s QR code. Your Blink app should automatically recognize each code and then display an approval message when they are all connected and active. Make sure that all of your camera lenses are pointed directly at their respective locations around your home prior to continuing with startup preferences and routine site visits from other authorized users for setting up video verification reports for yourself or others with access.

When motion-activated mode is chosen, your camera will record a short clip whenever motion is detected within its viewing area. clips are stored in any hubs associated with your system and can be accessed from within application at anytime.

If you choose the always-on mode, your camera will begin recording automatically when it’s activated by you or when it detects movement. Video data from clips recorded in this way will be Available for playback on both iOS and Android devices via the in app “Recordings” menu until deleted by you or automatically removed by your hub after thirty days for security reasons.

Configure the app settings

6. After making all desired changes, hit “Save” at the top-right corner of your screen

8. To confirm all changes have been correctly applied, reboot devices one by one
