Configure the settings
Before you view and control your Dahua CCTV on your mobile device, there are few basic settings that should be configured. This guide demonstrates the simple steps you need to take in order to use the Dahua app and connect to your camera.
Configure the settings:
Correctly configuring essential settings will help ensure successful setup and connection between Dahua’s NVR/DVRs, IP cameras, and the mobile application. Review the recommended settings for Wireless Router/Ethernet cables, router port forwarding, DDNS setup (Dynamic Domain Name System), and Phone Settings before downloading/initiating for both Android and iPhone users.
Wireless Router: Make sure both ends of cables are connected firmly; additionally turn off 802.11n protocol for older model routers equipped with that feature which may cause connection instability.
Router Port Forwarding: Each camera requires various ports in order for remote access from a Home Network or through a Mobile interface (such as 3G or 4G). Please refer to the user manual of each product’s port requirements so they can be enabled in the local modem/router.
DDNS Setup (Dynamic Domain Name System): The DDNS resolves domain name or FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) into an IP address dynamically if it has been changed due to networks providing a dynamic IP address by DHCP server; configuration follows single-click setup via Web interface making it much easier than ever before.
Phone Settings: Android phones require installation of Plug-in V1 or higher version via Google Play store when using viewer software supplied free by Dahua; also make sure phone’s Mobile Date is ON so P2P works properly for some devices such as VTHxx60A/VTHxx210A series vandal dome cameras with this feature available depending upon firmware versions used. Furthermore enable push notifications from app settings menu in case alarm functions generate warnings from camera side an app notifies them immediately & promptly without delays caused within standard email functions moving alerts via pictures & videos received earlier from them too with text notes alone without either one present at all!
View the CCTV
Viewing the Dahua CCTV on your mobile devices can be easily done by downloading the appropriate software and following a few easy steps. You can access live footage from your CCTV camera on your device, and even can control the camera remotely. This guide will explain the process for you to be able to view Dahua CCTV on your mobile device.
Access the live view
While the funtionality of mobile phones has rapidly improved, accessing CCTV footage remotely is still a technical process. While some networks may be pre-configured to allow you to view the cameras directly from your mobile, if this is not set-up in place then further configuration is needed. This can include both hardware and software changes, depending on each individual system.
In the case of Dahua cameras and recorders, accessing the live view requires that you download and install Dahua’s ‘iDMSS’ or ‘gDMSS’ app on your device. This can either be done as a direct download from a third party application store (e.g., Apple Store or Google Play) or via an .APK file provided by the manufacturer or distributor. Once installed and logged in using your credentials (generated during setup), you should see a main interface screen with various connectivity options for remote viewing platforms such as Mobile Viewer, Web Client and Easy4IP included below:
From here you will have access to a selection of Dahua CCTV equipment including NVRs, DVRs and IP cameras enabling additional flexibility and ease while monitoring your system remotely.
Access the playback view
Once the necessary components are set up, accessing the playback view of your Dahua CCTV on your mobile device is simple. To begin, open the app and enter your login credentials.
After you log in, you will be taken to the main interface where you can select between Live View, Playback View and Other Settings. Select the Playback View icon to access the necessary recordings for playback.
You will then come to a control window where you can choose an individual camera for playback and adjust various settings such as date and time, display time, data classification (e.g., all images or only motion detections). You may also preview short clips by pressing on thumbnails.
Once all of these settings have been configured, press ‘Play’ to enter playback mode of your chosen CCTV cameras on your mobile device. Now you can pause/play or scroll through recordings looking for any suspicious activities or evidence that could help with criminal investigations or any other matter at hand. Additionally, screenshots may be taken and stored in case they are needed later on. Finally, pressing ‘Stop’ will end the session and take you back to the previous control window so that new settings can be adjusted or a different camera chosen for future sessions
Access the event view
Once you have installed an app suitable for your mobile device, you will be able to access the devices live view and event view. Accessing the event view will allow you to review previous recordings of camera activity, providing a convenient way to monitor or review historical footage or look for past events. Depending on your CCTV system, you may also be able to access a timeline view, which allows for easy searching through a timeline of recorded events. Additionally, some systems allow for integration with other technologies such as facial recognition so that specific individuals can be identified in recordings.
